Makes about 8 cups
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons neutral oil or coconut oil
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons maple sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
Instructions
Heat the oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Add a few popcorn kernels. When they pop, add the rest. Cover the pot, leaving the lid slightly ajar for steam to escape. Cook, shaking the pot occasionally, until popping slows to 1–2 seconds between pops. Transfer the popcorn to a large bowl.
In a small saucepan (or microwave-safe bowl), melt the butter.
Drizzle the butter over the popcorn and toss well. Sprinkle the maple sugar and salt over the top, tossing again until evenly coated.
