FAQ while planning your trip to our area

When is the best time to visit Vermont?

Vermont is a special place to visit at many times during the year depending on what you would like to see.

October is the perfect time to see fall foliage in all of its glory. Peak foliage is different every year and hard to plan around but we typically recommend coming around the window of the 8th-16th. But keep in mind mother nature makes the rules.

If you want to experience all things maple we offer tours year round that you can book directly through the website. Our sugaring season typically is between late February and early April. If you come during that time frame there is a chance you might get to see sap flowing or see us boiling maple syrup but there is no guarantee because the weather determines a lot of what we do here. That said, there is always something fun to see no matter if we are boiling or not.

If you want more of a chance to see the boiling process we recommend coming for Maple Open House Weekend which is typically the last weekend in March (check our events page or shoot us an e-mail for a confirmation of dates).

The winter months are a great time to come if you like to ski or snowboard. Killington and Pico Mountain are not far from our farm. They also offer a fun tubing park, if skiing and snowboarding aren't your jam.

The summer months are beautiful especially if you like getting outdoors. There is nothing better than a Vermont summer day.

When is the best time to see the sugaring process ?

Can I tap a tree?

Unfortunately we do not allow visitors to tap our trees. The tapping process requires some knowledge and sugaring skills and can greatly impact our production on the farm so we only allow our staff to tap our trees. That said, if you come during our season you may get the chance to see some already tapped maple trees which is also super cool! :)

Do I have to schedule a tour?

Yes. All tours must be scheduled, you can schedule a tour by clicking here. The tours are about an hour long so we need to be able to factor the time into our days work to accommodate for them. You can schedule a tour directly through our website. We require 24 hour advance booking. Tour slots are only available as posted. Due to our space we have a limit on the number of folks per tour. Tour slots do fill up fast so try to book as soon as you know your schedule.

Where should I stay?

There are a number of great Air B and B's and Inns in our area. Here's a list of some that we recommend.
